The Challenge: We probably shouldn’t dwell on what we can no longer do, rather, we should think of the burdens and boundaries that we are now free of and the opportunity we now have to create new ways of doing things. Just a few months ago. our work day or week may have involved routine face-to-face meetings that dragged on for hours, leaving us with less time to complete the tasks we already faced while handing us more to add to our plate. Of course, there was the obligatory side-bar conversation(s) on the way to and from the meeting which reduced even further the time we had to do our work. Who’s to say our ideas are wrong or won’t work. Even our bosses don’t really know how to shape new best practices or protocols. In fact they are facing the same challenges we are. This presents opportunity.
The Opportunity: An online audio or audio/video meeting begins at 10:00am and ends at 10:45am. We do what we want or need to up 9:59am and resume our own activities at 10:46am. No distracting side-bar(s). We can schedule those with and when we want to. This is just one opportunity. You surely can think of others.
